NO DOUCHEBAG-GERY

Don't be a bitch. Be nice to people. Be respectful of the beliefs and lifestyles of others. We're not going to give you all a lecture on tolerance because this is neither the time, nor the place, so let us just say that if you're going to be a bigot, this is not the place to spread your bigotry. We are a group of friends who like to have fun and exercise our writers' muscles. Disturb our awesomeness with negativity and you will be asked to leave.

WE ARE NOT A CLIQUE

So many people searching for sites complain of feeling "left out" if the site is too big. Guys, let's NOT be one of those sites. Let's welcome and RP and talk with new members no matter how big we get.

NO POWER PLAYING/GOD MODDING

It means when you take control of someone else's character or make your character so ridiculously powerful that no one else can ever get the upper hand. Don't do it, it will mark you as an amateur. If you must God Mode or Power Play for the sake of a thread, please ask the permission of the person with whom you are role playing.

CONSIDER YOUR SETTING

Remember that you are playing in a made-up world set roughly in some sort of medieval era, so no cell phones, television, electricity or other modern conveniences. However, there is a lot of wiggle room in our made-up world of Speirling, so we're sure you'll find some creative substitute (hint: magic works well) to get what you want.

PLAY-BY CLAIM

Please use real people for Play-By's (hereafter referred to as PB's). Exceptions should be sought through PMing this account (exceptions being if you are playing some sort of creature that doesn't look human or something). Don't worry about having to "claim" your PB after you finish your application--we will do that for you (unless you want to, then by all means, go for it). If you end up changing your PB, please notify us. Once a PB has been claimed, no one can use them unless you leave the site or delete that character or change your PB. Identical twins and plots of that nature are the exception to this rule. Once your character is accepted and all that good stuff, we would like you to decorate your account with an avatar and signature (you can use just an avatar at first while you're waiting for the signature to be ready or while you're making it) depicting your character, using your character's PB.

Avatar sizes: avatars MUST be 150 pixels wide and 300 pixels in height. If you are unable to re-size your images, then we can do this for you.

APPLICATIONS

Unless otherwise stated, your application must be accepted before you can begin to RP, unless otherwise stated. If we give you a list of changes that we want you to fix before you can RP, please know that it's nothing personal and we only want your character to fit into the site and we want to level the playing field for everyone (in other words, we're trying to keep out the Mary-Sues). Please notify us (by PMing this account) if you wish to make changes to your application.

CHARACTERS

You can have as many as you can keep active. Please post when you can. If you're gone for longer than a month or two without leaving a note of absence, we will (probably) delete your account, but there are no hard feelings and you're welcome back at any time.

POSTING LENGTH

Here's the thing: we don't really care. We are a quality-over-quantity site, so how many words you post is your business. RP etiquette says you should try to post as much as the person you're RPing with, but really, that's between you and the other person/people in the thread in question. Please stay away from one- and two-liners. They make you look lazy and us look bad.

ENGLISH IS YOUR BFF

So show it some respect! Use proper grammar and spelling and use spell check!

SITE RATING

We are a mature PG-13 site. So profanity, violence and subjects of a questionable and controversial nature are all fair game. For some reason, Proboards has an issue with sex, so if things heat up between your characters and they're about to do the nasty, PM this account before their shed their clothes and we'll deal with it so it's all off-site. That's right, they can see your PMs as well, so please don't go writing porn via PM and we don't want this place deleted. You can write all the porn you please, off-site: we don't judge, but Proboards will. By the way, you're not allowed to join if you're under thirteen. Sorry kids, Proboards rules, not ours. Also, don't join if you're a penguin. Just kidding, you can join if you're a penguin.

A REQUEST
This is not a rule, because if I made this a rule, I would be an overbearing, noisy jerkwad, so instead, this is merely a request. I do humbly implore you to log into each of your accounts at least 24 hours, even if you do not post on each of them. This makes our site look alive and active. If you're not on every 24 hours or are not so inclined, then that's okay. It is merely a request to help out one of your RP homes.
