Finally, after a long day of ruthless 'princess stuff', Adrina had been able to sneak out of the castle - one of her favorite activities - and come to her favorite place, the forest. Though it was, of course, highly illegal for her to be walking around without guards; Adi felt perfectly safe in the forest. She had just spotted the perfect tree to climb up, and was sitting on it's low branches; when she heard footsteps.
The hair on her neck rose, it was about to be the first time she'd ever come in contact with anyone while in the forest, and that frightened her. Not that she would be afraid of the stranger, but the mere fact that the person was a stranger, that's what scared her the most. She decided to make herself unknown, and wait and watch.

Dedrallow made his way through the forest, but it wasn’t just any forest, he was back to the place where he was born. He didn’t really like to think of those days, it was filled with dark memories. His hand briefly touched his chest where the scar that his sister made so many years later. Rouge, his shape shifting companion was walking beside me, in a form of a dog, she too knew this place. Dedrallow began to touch the trees as he walked passed them. How long has it been since he was last here? This place was no longer home. So why was he here?
“Dedrallow…” he whispered his own name under his breath as he paused as he looked up to see a woman standing before him. Dedrallow had met several people in the past 600 years so it was hard for him to recognize people. However Rouge, who had the memory of an elephant, jumped forward yipping as she raced toward the woman.
“Rouge,” Dedrallow hissed as he walked forward. He really didn’t have time to deal with this. He wanted to be out of here already. Far away from this forest, from this place.

As soon as Adrina had stepped down from the low branch, a dog ambushed her and began licking her hands and face. "Well hello! Do I know you?" She asked the animal softly, patting it's head. The dog possessed a sense of familiarity to Adi, she just couldn't figure out how.
Soon enough, she heard more footsteps; and a voice hollering for the dog. She watched as she rose from petting her new (or possibly old) friend, staring in shock. As the man approached her, Adi immediately knew the dog and it's owner. "Dedrallow, is that you?" She asked once the man was only a few steps in front of her.

The woman had caught him off guard by calling out to him by name. That rarely occurs. He stood there dumbfounded as he looked at her, squinting his eyes as if that would help to recognize her. He took a few hesitant steps forward, in the back of his mind if he was wondering if this was some kind of trap. Rogue happily returned to her owner’s side, shape shifting into a raven and flying up to his shoulder, but Dedrallow didn’t pay any attention to that.
“Yes. Dedrallow is me. Who…is thee?” He asked as he titled his head to the side. She seemed familiar, but he couldn’t pinpoint. He must have met her at some point for her to know her name, right? He was still cautious though, his eyes darting to the side as he looked around, but he could not sense anyone else around. He relaxed a bit as he folded his arms, waiting for her to answer.

Adrina laughed internally, wondering if he'd really meant to sound sarcastic. Whatever the case, he clearly didn't remember her. Honestly, Adi didn't know how she'd pulled his name out of the crevices of her brain. It had been sitting somewhere in the dark, dark past. However she'd done it, she was hoping that the aftermath wouldn't cause her to go insane with trying to explain who she was.
"It's Adrina," she paused, trying to decide whether or not to get the awkward, 'oh dear goodness, you're a princess now?!' thing overwith, "we were friends awhile back."

“Adrina?” Dedrallow repeated a few times as he clicked his tongue as he tried to recall a name. It seemed distant, not totally foreign to him, as he had once heard it a long time ago. He didn’t think she was lying, because Rouge seemed to know who she was. (at this point Rogue shifted again back into a dog – she really didn’t have a long attention span) He paused though when she mentioned they were ‘friends awhile back’ now that really stumped him. “Lady…I think you’re crazy.” He said as he patted his leg, and Rouge soon returned to his side. He turned around and began to walk away; but took two steps before stopping.
“Adrina,” he said as he turned and looked back to her, the pieces falling into places, “I remember now.” He said, remembering a while back meeting her. Rouge barked happily as she wagged her tail.

Adrina drew back, giving a 'oh no you didn't look', when he called her crazy; then started walking away. She would've followed and yelled at him because of her temper; had he not turned around and said he remembered.
"Crazy?" She questioned, slightly smirking, "Well, whatever. But you remember me, so that's good." Adrina paused, wondering what sort of conversation she could bring up. Somehow, she didn't think a simple 'so, how have you been' would cut it. Sadly, she didn't have anything else to say, "So, how have you been? It's been a long time, and I'm sure we have lots to talk about."

“I’ve been good…”Dedrallow said with a shrug of his shoulders, he really couldn’t complain, now could he? The memories from a while had come back to him. He now remembered meeting this girl. They weren’t together for that long, he never stayed in one place for so long, so how she remembered him was beyond him. “I’m just you know….doing whatever.” He was never good with small talk and it made him uneasy, he had a million things run through his mind on what he should say or what he shouldn’t say.
“I suppose…if you want too,” Dedrallow said, “but I cannot stay for too long…this forest…” He didn’t finish is statement as he went silent. This was once a place he called home, but now it held night chilling memories and a past that was never meant to be. Something drew him back to this forest, and he didn’t know what, he could still feel it press against him, but he didn’t make a movement.
